Celestial succession, second Elevation and suspended universal challenges.
- Elections/elevations are scheduled by agreed movements of stars/celestial cycles, not necessarily every fixed five or ten years.
- Stage one: Elevate individuals to Sphere Holders.
- One year later: Elevate a Sphere Holder to the Principal Axis in the Sphere of Philosophia.
- Different Spheres use different selection methods. War/Martial Sphere selection by combat is CANON. Specific procedures for the other Spheres remain undecided.
- The present Axis is 200 years old, but this does not mean a 200-year reign.
- Historically, everyone was entitled to issue a Challenge to a Sphere Holder.
- This universal right falls within Philosophia, over which the Axis has supreme jurisdiction.
- Challenges have not been invoked for centuries.
- The current Axis paused/suspended the Right of Challenge because of this centuries-long disuse.
- The right is suspended, not definitively abolished.
- The exact form of different Sphere Challenges, treatment of Axis challenges, and reactivation procedure remain unknown.
Never write a contemporary successful formal Challenge without resolving the suspension in-world.
